This compact, 100% Bearbrick figure unites two icons of Japanese streetwear culture in an unusually soft interpretation: the legendary brand A BATHING APE and the sophisticated designer toys of Medicom Toy. Part of the exclusive 28th Anniversary #2 collection from 2021, this figure celebrates almost three decades of BAPE history with a color palette that blends streetwear edge with pastel lightness.
Founded in 1993 by Nigo in Tokyo's trendy Harajuku district, BAPE revolutionized the streetwear scene with its iconic camo pattern. Inspired by the film Planet of the Apes and developed by legendary graphic designer Sk8thing, BAPE camo, introduced in 1996, combines traditional American hunting camo with the signature APE HEAD logo. With the COLOR CAMO line launched in 2004, BAPE opened new creative horizons and experimented with unconventional color palettes. This blue/purple/grey variant represents a particularly sophisticated take on the look—an interpretation reminiscent of summer and contemporary fashion, and appreciated by hip-hop icons such as Pharrell Williams, Kanye West, and Drake.
The sophisticated color combination of fresh sky blue, delicate lavender purple, and warm gray-beige creates a harmonious balance between urban coolness and pastel elegance. Unlike the bright or earthy versions, this one emphasizes subtle sophistication—the colors appear as if viewed through a soft filter, flowing organically into one another. The light blue brings summery freshness, while the soft purple contributes feminine elegance, and the gray-beige background ties everything together. The characteristic black, dotted seams create a graphic contrast that anchors and structures the soft hues.
