Cyborg Superman is one of the most fascinating and menacing adversaries of the Man of Steel in the DC Universe. Created by comic book legend Dan Jurgens, the character by Hank Henshaw debuted in 1990 and reached its zenith during the legendary "Death and Return of Superman" storyline of the early 1990s. This extraordinary Bearbrick, released in November 2025, perfectly captures the unsettling duality of this character: The 7 cm (100%) and 28 cm (400%) figures depict the dramatic fusion of man and machine, hero and villain, that makes Cyborg Superman one of the most complex antagonists in comic book history.

The design of both Bearbricks is a visual triumph of comic book aesthetics. The head displays the character's famous duality: the left side presents Henshaw's human face with a flesh-toned appearance, dark hair with blue highlights, and intense blue eyes, while the right side reveals the merciless cyborg face—silver-gray metal with a mechanical skull, a glowing red eye, and technical panel details. This dramatic contrast continues on the torso: Superman's iconic red suit with the classic yellow-and-red S shield dominates the front, while the blue side of the body suggests Superman's signature musculature. The silver-gray cyborg arm features detailed mechanical components and cable structures, while the human hand is rendered in a flesh tone. The yellow-and-red belt with its signature buckle completes the classic Superman design. The legs combine the red Superman suit with mechanical elements and silver-gray cyborg components, which are differentiated on each leg.

The tragic backstory makes Cyborg Superman particularly compelling: Hank Henshaw was once a NASA astronaut whose spaceship crew mutated after exposure to cosmic radiation—a dark parody of the Fantastic Four origin story. When his wife and crew perished, Henshaw blamed Superman for his fate and transferred his consciousness into a cybernetic version of Superman's body. He posed as the returned Superman after his death at the hands of Doomsday, only to later destroy Coast City alongside Mongul and become one of the Man of Steel's most dangerous adversaries. Equipped with the innovative du-al system, this Bearbrick combines state-of-the-art collector technology with classic comic book history.
