The BE@RBRICK Me-gumi Happi Black Plated (100%) is a special collaboration from Medicom Toy celebrating the traditional Japanese culture of firefighters. The name "Me-gumi" refers to one of the historical fire brigades from the Edo period, while "Happi" denotes the short, festive cotton coats worn at Matsuri festivals and by craftsmen. Medicom Toy has immortalized this very cultural heritage in a Bearbrick, combining classic symbolism with modern collector's design, thus building a successful bridge between tradition and contemporary vinyl art.
Visually, this Bearbrick impresses with its elegant black-plated look: the head, ears, and torso shimmer in a metallic chrome-plated black that changes with the light, giving the figurine a high-quality, almost reflective appearance. Distributed over the body and arms are the characteristic Bear silhouettes in bright white, interpreting the iconic Bearbrick logo as a small pattern. A round emblem with a stylized white cross symbol adorns the chest and back – an allusion to the fire brigade insignia of the Me-gumi brigade.
