When one of Japan's most beloved comedians and entertainers becomes an internationally acclaimed artist, extraordinary works are born. Noritake Kinashi, a fixture of the Japanese entertainment scene since the 1980s as one half of the comedy duo Tunnels, experienced his artistic turning point in 1994 during a television shoot in Paris. There, he spontaneously sketched the Seine landscape with a black marker – and rediscovered his true calling. Since then, he has held countless exhibitions in renowned museums such as the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art in Kanazawa and brought his work to London and New York.
This limited-edition Bearbrick represents Kinashi's seminal "REACH OUT" series, which has been central to his artistic practice for years. For him, the hand motif symbolizes the universal human connection—reaching out, connecting, and offering a helping hand. His philosophy: "I have always believed in the power of laughter to foster inner peace. That's why I express that same thought on canvas." In his characteristically vibrant palette, Kinashi transforms this simple concept into a complex network of interlocking hands, forming a psychedelic tapestry of orange, blue, dark gray, pink, and yellow.
The design of this Bearbrick is a celebration of color and organic forms. Stylized palms and letters—especially the recurring "A," "C," "D," and "R" from the title—overlap in wild, almost chaotic patterns across the entire surface. Warm oranges meet cool blues, while dark contrasts and bright accents create visual dynamism. Dotted lines and curved contours add further movement to the design. Kinashi's signature intuitive painting style—he draws without corrections and loves improvisation—finds its perfect three-dimensional expression here. The set includes both sizes: the imposing 400% version (28 cm) and the compact 100% version (7 cm), which together unleash the full power of this visual message.
