Product description

Project Mercury made space history between 1958 and 1963 as the first crewed space program of the United States. Legendary astronauts such as Alan Shepard and John Glenn wore those iconic silver pressure suits, which are still considered a symbol of humanity's venture into space. Medicom Toy pays homage to this pioneering chapter of space exploration with the BE@RBRICK Project Mercury Astronaut (1000%) and translates the historic spacesuit into the unmistakable Bearbrick silhouette. The result is an impressive tribute to the pioneering spirit of the early NASA era, appealing equally to collectors and space enthusiasts.

The design is remarkably true to the original Mercury spacesuit. The body is rendered in a gleaming silver tone, interspersed with white panels that recreate the typical structure of the pressure suit. The famous NASA "meatball" logo is emblazoned on the chest in full color with its blue sphere, red chevron, and white lettering. A diagonal zipper with golden-yellow teeth runs across the upper body, complemented by intricately depicted twist locks and connectors. The abdominal area features a striking turquoise band, providing a vibrant color accent, while golden-yellow trim on the lower torso creates additional depth. The back shows a detailed X-shaped harness system with rectangular buckles, modeled after the carrying system of the historical prototype. Brown cuffs at the wrists represent the glove attachments of the original. The highlight is the transparent helmet visor, through which an internal head protection is visible – a fascinating detail that gives the Bearbrick an impressive three-dimensional effect.

With its imposing 1000% size of approximately 70 cm, this Bearbrick exerts an enormous presence and effectively highlights every single design element of the Mercury suit. The combination of a silver finish, accurately implemented functional elements, and the transparent helmet makes this model one of the most detailed Bearbricks in the realm of space-themed collectibles. For fans of NASA history, lovers of exceptional design objects, and ambitious collectors, this piece is an absolute highlight.

Whether as a focal point in the living room, as the centerpiece of a space collection, or as an extraordinary gift for space enthusiasts – the Mercury Astronaut in this monumental size uniquely combines collector's value, historical significance, and aesthetic appeal. Secure this impressive tribute to the heroes of early spaceflight now before it's gone.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Is this Bearbrick already pre-assembled?

Yes, all Bearbricks available at MyBearBrick.de are delivered fully assembled by the manufacturer Medicom Toy and are ready to display. So there's no risk of damaging the model.

What packaging does this Bearbrick come in?

This Bearbrick comes in the official original Medicom Toy packaging (see specifications). This is often a collector's item in its own right and important for preserving the model's value. We take care to ensure secure packaging for shipping to prevent damage during transport.

What material is this Bearbrick made of and how do I best care for it?

Most Bearbricks are made of high-quality plastic (ABS plastic), unless otherwise stated in the specifications. For maintenance, we recommend gently dusting the figure regularly with a soft, dry cloth. On chrome versions, fingerprints should be avoided; cloth gloves may be helpful here. Direct sunlight and high humidity should be avoided to protect the colors and material over time and ensure long-term value retention.

How quickly will my order be shipped and how long will delivery take?

Orders received by 2:00 PM on weekdays (11:00 AM on Saturdays) will be shipped the same day via DHL. Delivery within Germany typically takes 1 to 2 business days. Deliveries to other EU countries or Switzerland typically take 2 to 4 business days. You will always receive a tracking number so you can check the status of your delivery at any time.

How much are the shipping costs for this Bearbrick?

We offer free shipping within the European Union for orders over €75. For orders below this amount, we charge a flat shipping fee of €4.90 for deliveries within Germany and €7.90 for other EU countries. For customers in Switzerland or UK, the shipping fee is CHF 10.00 or GBP 10.00 respectively, with a minimum order value of CHF 75 or GBP 75. We cover all customs duties and import taxes for you.

What payment options do I have?

At MyBearBrick.de you can pay securely and conveniently using various payment methods, including PayPal, Klarna (purchase on account), Apple Pay, Google Pay, and credit cards (VISA, Mastercard, American Express).

What happens if I don't like the Bearbrick or it arrives damaged?

Your satisfaction is important to us. If, contrary to expectations, you don't like a Bearbrick or it's damaged, you have a 30-day free return policy. Simply contact us by phone, email, or chat, and we'll send you a prepaid DHL return label. Once we receive your return, we'll, of course, refund the full purchase price, including any shipping costs.

Will I receive a certificate of authenticity for this Bearbrick?

For all Bearbricks 200% and larger (including 100%+400% sets), we at Zaiser Art Gallery issue an additional Certificate of Authenticity for your records. This underscores our commitment and conviction to offering only genuine Medicom Toy products.

How does the quality and mobility of this model differ from other sizes?

Medicom Toy's production quality is very high across all sizes. Larger models (400% or 1000%) often offer more space for detailed designs. However, the joints vary depending on the size: In larger models (400% and 1000%), the arms and legs usually rotate in a single plane. Smaller Bearbricks (especially 100% and 200%) often have ball joints, allowing for more flexible movement of the limbs.
