With the BE@RBRICK Rokkakuyosegi, you bring an extraordinary piece of Japanese craftsmanship into your home. This Bearbrick from the Modern Collection celebrates the artistic Yosegi-Zaiku technique, a centuries-old inlay art from the Hakone region, perfected in the late Edo period. The hexagonal pattern covering the entire body of both figures is created by the precise combination of different types of wood in their natural colors – without any artificial coloring. The warm, luminous earth tones of ochre, terracotta, mustard yellow, petrol, and deep black, as well as soft beige tones, create a harmonious interplay of colors reminiscent of the geometric patterns of traditional Japanese puzzle boxes.

The connection to the Taisho era, the romantic period of Japanese history between 1912 and 1926, lends this set a special cultural depth. Taisho Roman represents the fascinating fusion of Western modernity with traditional Japanese craftsmanship—just like this Bearbrick itself, which transfers traditional inlay art to a contemporary designer figure. The dark ears and paws form an elegant contrast to the multicolored hexagon pattern and underscore the sophisticated design.
