Product description

The horror variant Kubism from Medicom Toy's Series 10 is a darkly artistic creation by Japanese designer YKT and was released in June 2005 as part of the popular horror category. This Bearbrick features a deep black color with a disturbingly fascinating graphic design reminiscent of torn skin and opened-up body parts. White seam lines run through the entire body like surgical incisions, while skin-colored sections with bluish shimmering details inside the torn areas offer a glimpse into the bear's anatomy. The grotesque face, with its asymmetrical design, where the left side reveals the inner structure, gives the figure an oppressively surreal aura typical of the Japanese horror aesthetic.

With a release probability of 9.37%, the horror category is one of the medium-rare variants within the blind box series and has been dedicated to themes from well-known horror films and the scary genre since the first Bearbrick generations. YKT's design for Kubism combines traditional Japanese horror art traditions with contemporary designer toy aesthetics. The depiction is reminiscent of the centuries-old tradition of yūrei-zu, Japanese ghost and demon depictions, as well as the explicit muzan-e of the Edo period, which shocked with their graphic imagery. The accurate execution of the anatomical details and the high-contrast coloring make this Bearbrick a small work of art that blurs the lines between cute collectible toy and disturbing art.

For lovers of horror art, fans of Japanese subculture, and collectors of exceptional Bearbrick designs, this 100% figure, measuring 7 cm tall, is an absolute must-have. YKT's dark interpretation of the otherwise friendly bear character impressively demonstrates the versatility of the Bearbrick format's artistic interpretations. Whether as a controversial eye-catcher in your collection or as a homage to Japanese horror tradition, this Cubism from Series 10 embodies the dark side of designer toy culture in its most uncompromising form.

Is this Bearbrick already pre-assembled?

Yes, all Bearbricks available at MyBearBrick.de are delivered fully assembled by the manufacturer Medicom Toy and are ready to display. So there's no risk of damaging the model.

What packaging does this Bearbrick come in?

This Bearbrick comes in the official original Medicom Toy packaging (see specifications). This is often a collector's item in its own right and important for preserving the model's value. We take care to ensure secure packaging for shipping to prevent damage during transport.

What material is this Bearbrick made of and how do I best care for it?

Most Bearbricks are made of high-quality plastic (ABS plastic), unless otherwise stated in the specifications. For maintenance, we recommend gently dusting the figure regularly with a soft, dry cloth. On chrome versions, fingerprints should be avoided; cloth gloves may be helpful here. Direct sunlight and high humidity should be avoided to protect the colors and material over time and ensure long-term value retention.

How quickly will my order be shipped and how long will delivery take?

Orders received by 2:00 PM on weekdays (11:00 AM on Saturdays) will be shipped the same day via DHL. Delivery within Germany typically takes 1 to 2 business days. Deliveries to other EU countries or Switzerland typically take 2 to 4 business days. You will always receive a tracking number so you can check the status of your delivery at any time.

How much are the shipping costs for this Bearbrick?

We offer free shipping within the European Union for orders over €75. For orders below this amount, we charge a flat shipping fee of €4.90 for deliveries within Germany and €7.90 for other EU countries. For customers in Switzerland or UK, the shipping fee is CHF 10.00 or GBP 10.00 respectively, with a minimum order value of CHF 75 or GBP 75. We cover all customs duties and import taxes for you.

Will I receive a certificate of authenticity for this Bearbrick?

For all Bearbricks 200% and larger (including 100%+400% sets), we at Zaiser Art Gallery issue an additional Certificate of Authenticity for your records. This underscores our commitment and conviction to offering only genuine Medicom Toy products.

How does the quality and mobility of this model differ from other sizes?

Medicom Toy's production quality is very high across all sizes. Larger models (400% or 1000%) often offer more space for detailed designs. However, the joints vary depending on the size: In larger models (400% and 1000%), the arms and legs usually rotate in a single plane. Smaller Bearbricks (especially 100% and 200%) often have ball joints, allowing for more flexible movement of the limbs.
