An extremely rare SECRET figure from Series 13, released in December 2006, this Bearbrick pays tribute to one of the most influential pioneers of streetwear culture: Jeff Staple, founder of Staple Design in New York City. Jeff Staple (born Jeff Ng) revolutionized urban fashion starting in 1997 with his iconic pigeon logo, representing the streets of NYC—pigeons symbolizing resilience, hustle, and unwavering self-assertion in the urban jungle. His legendary 2005 Nike SB Dunk "Pigeon" sparked the famous "Pigeon Riot," when sneakerheads camped out in front of his Reed Space store, catapulting Staple into streetwear legend status. SECRET figures like this one are produced in significantly smaller quantities than regular releases and are among the most sought-after collectibles of each series.
The design of this Bearbricks figure combines signature streetwear elements with minimalist symbolism: The silver-gray, metallic-shimmering head, with closed eyes and a relaxed smile, exudes urban coolness. A black hourglass—a universal symbol of time, transience, and the present moment—is emblazoned on the white torso. The lower part of the figure features a multicolored camouflage pattern in shades of gray and beige, separated from the torso by a gold belt. This camo pattern is an absolute streetwear classic and references the military aesthetic that dominated urban fashion in the 2000s. The combination of clean surfaces, symbolic graphics, and street-military visuals makes this figure a perfect embodiment of Staples' design philosophy: sophisticated streetwear that unites urban culture with high-quality aesthetics.
Jeff Staple has collaborated with countless prestigious brands—from Nike and Medicom Toy to luxury labels—establishing himself as a creative director, designer, and cultural trendsetter. The Pigeon logo, his trademark since 2004, transformed the city pigeon from a "council of the skies" into a cool streetwear icon.
