The SF (Science Fiction) category has been among the most sought-after designs since the very first Bearbrick series, featuring iconic characters from science fiction films, series, and anime. Series 13, released in December 2006, was dedicated to the legendary anime series "Neon Genesis Evangelion" by Hideaki Anno and GAINAX (1995-1996) – a milestone that revolutionized the mecha genre and profoundly influenced anime culture worldwide. While the regular SF position was filled by Rei Ayanami, this Bearbrick appeared as an extremely rare SECRET figure: Asuka Langley Soryu, the Second Child.

Asuka Langley Soryu (惣流・アスカ・ラングレー) is the 14-year-old pilot of Evangelion Unit-02 and is considered one of the most iconic female anime characters of all time. In contrast to the quiet, mysterious Rei, Asuka embodies fire, self-confidence, and boundless energy. With her German-Japanese-American heritage, her signature red hair, and her competitive, often arrogant personality, she forms the perfect contrast to the introverted protagonist, Shinji Ikari. Behind her confident facade, however, lies a tragic story: After a contact experiment with Eva-02, her mother, Kyoko, became mentally ill and committed suicide—a trauma that shaped Asuka's entire personality.
