Bearbrick Series 38 Artist "Ookami-kun" 100% Begleitkarte — With the original Medicom Toy card

Japanese reality TV culture meets designer toy art: With this Bearbrick from the Artist category of Series 38, Medicom Toy 2019 honors one of Japan's most charming TV mascots. Ookami-kun is the official mascot of the AbemaTV dating show "Ookami-kun ni wa Damasarenai" (in English "Who Is the Wolf?" or "Don't Be Fooled by Wolf-kun"), a romantic reality show that has captivated millions of viewers since 2017. The concept is intriguing: Five women and five men meet, but at least one is a "wolf" – someone who isn't really interested in a relationship and is trying to deceive the others.

The design of this Bearbricks perfectly captures Ookami-kun's irresistible cuteness. The chocolate-brown body with cream-colored chest and face embodies the blend of innocence and mischievousness that makes the mascot so popular. The large, friendly eyes with their warm expression, the characteristic black nose, and especially the protruding red tongue give the character a playful, almost canine personality – fitting the ambivalent concept of the show, where you're never quite sure who the "wolf in sheep's clothing" is. The two-tone ears with a brown outer surface and a light gray inner surface, as well as the fur-like texture on the chest and shoulders, demonstrate the attention to detail with which Medicom Toy created this TV mascot.

"Ookami-kun ni wa Damasarenai" became one of the most successful formats on AbemaTV, Japan's leading streaming service. The show combines romantic suspense with psychological elements, as the contestants must determine who is authentic and who is merely deceiving them. Ookami-kun, the mascot, perfectly symbolizes this ambiguity: cute and trustworthy at first glance, yet with a mischievous undertone that recalls the show's central theme.

For fans of Japanese reality shows and collectors of TV mascots, this 100% Bearbrick is an absolute must-have. It represents a piece of contemporary Japanese pop culture and demonstrates how Medicom Toy integrates even niche mascots into its designer toy universe.

Is this Bearbrick already pre-assembled?

Yes, all Bearbricks available at MyBearBrick.de are delivered fully assembled by the manufacturer Medicom Toy and are ready to display. So there’s no risk of damaging the model.

What packaging does this Bearbrick come in?

This Bearbrick comes in the official original Medicom Toy packaging (see specifications). This is often a collector’s item in its own right and important for preserving the model’s value. We take care to ensure secure packaging for shipping to prevent damage during transport.

What material is this Bearbrick made of and how do I best care for it?

Most Bearbricks are made of high-quality plastic (ABS plastic), unless otherwise stated in the specifications. For maintenance, we recommend gently dusting the figure regularly with a soft, dry cloth. On chrome versions, fingerprints should be avoided; cloth gloves may be helpful here. Direct sunlight and high humidity should be avoided to protect the colours and material over time.

How does the quality and mobility of this model differ from other sizes?

Medicom Toy’s production quality is very high across all sizes. Larger models (400% or 1000%) often offer more space for detailed designs. However, the joints vary depending on the size: In larger models (400% and 1000%), the arms and legs usually rotate in a single plane. Smaller Bearbricks (especially 100% and 200%) often have ball joints, allowing for more flexible movement of the limbs.
