Product description

This Bearbrick from Series 4, released in August 2002, features a collaboration with Japanese manga artist Santa Inoue, who was born in Paris in 1968 and rose to international fame with his Tokyo Tribe series. The design depicts a characteristic manga character with an exaggerated facial expression: large eyes, prominent eyebrows, buck teeth, and a broad smile – typical of Inoue's expressive, hip-hop-influenced drawing style. The figure wears a turquoise sports jersey with the number 4, red and black striped shorts, and white shoes. The dark blue hairstyle and beige-pink skin tone complete the look of an urban streetwear character.

Santa Inoue made a name for himself in the late 1980s with manga such as "Tokyo Tribe" and "Tokyo Tribe 2," which were serialized from 1997 to 2005 and depicted the world of Japanese street gangs with hip-hop influences. His works have been adapted into anime series and filmed in 2014 by director Sion Sono. His horror manga "The Neighbor No. Thirteen," about a man with a split personality, is particularly well-known and was also adapted into a film. Inoue's style is characterized by hyperrealistic urban action dramas heavily influenced by American hip-hop culture. Many of his characters are modeled after real-life rappers, and his work demonstrates a deep reverence for Black urban culture and its visual language.

With a 4.16% impurity rate, this Inoue Bearbrick is significantly rarer than all standard Series 4 themes, although not as rare as the KAWS Bearbrick at 1.04%. Inoue later founded the Santastic! merchandise line and has lived in Los Angeles since 2017. For you, this Bearbrick represents a piece of Japanese manga history from an artist who, like no other, embodies the fusion of Japanese comic culture with American hip-hop spirit.

Yes, all Bearbricks available at MyBearBrick.de are delivered fully assembled by the manufacturer Medicom Toy and are ready to display. So there's no risk of damaging the model.

What packaging does this Bearbrick come in?

This Bearbrick comes in the official original Medicom Toy packaging (see specifications). This is often a collector's item in its own right and important for preserving the model's value. We take care to ensure secure packaging for shipping to prevent damage during transport.

What material is this Bearbrick made of and how do I best care for it?

Most Bearbricks are made of high-quality plastic (ABS plastic), unless otherwise stated in the specifications. For maintenance, we recommend gently dusting the figure regularly with a soft, dry cloth. On chrome versions, fingerprints should be avoided; cloth gloves may be helpful here. Direct sunlight and high humidity should be avoided to protect the colors and material over time and ensure long-term value retention.

How quickly will my order be shipped and how long will delivery take?

Orders received by 2:00 PM on weekdays (11:00 AM on Saturdays) will be shipped the same day via DHL. Delivery within Germany typically takes 1 to 2 business days. Deliveries to other EU countries or Switzerland typically take 2 to 4 business days. You will always receive a tracking number so you can check the status of your delivery at any time.

How much are the shipping costs for this Bearbrick?

We offer free shipping within the European Union for orders over €75. For orders below this amount, we charge a flat shipping fee of €4.90 for deliveries within Germany and €7.90 for other EU countries. For customers in Switzerland or UK, the shipping fee is CHF 10.00 or GBP 10.00 respectively, with a minimum order value of CHF 75 or GBP 75. We cover all customs duties and import taxes for you.

How does the quality and mobility of this model differ from other sizes?

Medicom Toy's production quality is very high across all sizes. Larger models (400% or 1000%) often offer more space for detailed designs. However, the joints vary depending on the size: In larger models (400% and 1000%), the arms and legs usually rotate in a single plane. Smaller Bearbricks (especially 100% and 200%) often have ball joints, allowing for more flexible movement of the limbs.
