The BE@RBRICK Series 40 Blind Box takes you on a spectacular collector's experience with 21 different designs, ranging from contemporary art and science fiction to superhero icons and horror elements. Released in June 2020, this series offers exceptional variety, including six secret SECRET variants that are sure to thrill any collector. Each 7 cm Bearbrick comes in a mysterious foil wrapper with a collector's card.
The artist lineup boasts top-tier names: Kae Tanaka, the rising Japanese illustrator whose signature characters with oversized eyes and long limbs are inspired by manga legends like Osamu Tezuka, represents contemporary Japanese illustration. The SF-inspired Bearbrick Robi pays homage to the humanoid robot designed by Tomotaka Takahashi, which made history as Japan's best-selling bipedal robot and became a DIY phenomenon for DeAgostini. Miles from New York brings urban street art aesthetics to the collection, while ADER error represents the Korean streetwear collective that has been conquering the fashion world with bold graphics and unconventional silhouettes since 2014. The mysterious Denshitako No.3 embodies an ocean exploration robot with a unique design.
The pop culture icons are equally diverse: Wonder Woman appears in her iconic interpretation from Wonder Woman 1984, the DC blockbuster that transports the Amazonian princess to the dazzling 1980s. Brightburn embodies the dark horror vision of an evil Superman-like character from James Gunn's 2019 film of the same name. The Peanuts family is represented by Belle, while Nathalie Leté's whimsical artwork enriches the Animal category—the French multimedia artist is known for her collaborations with Gucci and Uniqlo.
The SECRET variants include the highly sought-after Peanuts Marbles model, highly exclusive designs from Toyota and Coca-Cola, and the architectural Snarkitecture interpretation by Daniel Arsham. The series is rounded out by pattern designs such as the luminous Marble look, the FLAG category with Panama and Jellybean, and the color-changing BASIC models.
