Product description
The blue lightning bolt from the SEGA universe meets the iconic Bearbrick silhouette – and the result is spectacular. With this Bearbrick, the Japanese collectible figure literally slips into the costume of arguably the most famous video game hedgehog of all time. Completely covered in soft plush fabric, the design transforms the characteristic figure shape into a lifelike interpretation of Sonic, the mascot created by SEGA in 1991 who once set out to dethrone Nintendo.
The design incorporates all the signature elements of the original character: The striking cobalt blue of the fur, perfectly matched to classic SEGA blue, dominates the head and body. The beige belly and matching snout provide the characteristic contrast, while the green eyes with their typically determined gaze give Bearbrick Sonic's rebellious personality. On the back, the legendary spines are meticulously detailed with black outlines in the plush material – the same spines that designer Naoto Ohshima originally chose because a hedgehog can perfectly roll to a ball. The red sneakers with white accents, inspired by Michael Jackson's boots and the color contrast of his Bad album, complete the design.
The Costume Version stands out significantly from classic printed Bearbricks: Here, the figure is completely encased in a high-quality plush costume, bringing a whole new tactile dimension to the collector's shelf. Standing approximately 28 cm tall, this 400% Edition has enough presence to serve as a centerpiece. If you love both the world of designer toys and the Sonic universe, this piece unites both passions in a unique collector's figure that brings gaming history to life.
