Product description

When Sony unveiled the first PlayStation in Japan on December 3, 1994, no one suspected that this gray box with its characteristic four colorful controller buttons would forever change the gaming world. The console broke with all the conventions of its time, opting for CD-ROM instead of cartridges and bringing three-dimensional polygon graphics into the living room with its revolutionary 32-bit R3000 processor. Legendary titles like Final Fantasy VII, Tekken, and Tomb Raider became pop culture icons on this platform. This Bearbrick celebrates precisely that milestone in video game history, transforming the timeless design of the original PlayStation into a sculptural collector's item.

The design of the 28 cm tall Bearbricks perfectly translates the minimalist industrial design of the original PlayStation into the iconic bear shape. The matte gray of the plastic body exactly matches the color of the original console casings, which conquered over 102 million gaming homes between 1994 and 2006. The legendary multicolored PlayStation logo, which has stood for technological innovation and entertainment for three decades, is emblazoned on its chest. The absolute highlight, however, is found on its head: Here, the four geometric controller buttons have been masterfully recreated in their original colors. The green triangle, the red circle, the blue cross, and the pink square are more than just controls – they have become universal symbols instantly recognizable to generations of gamers worldwide. Designer Teiyu Goto created a visual trademark with these shapes that endures to this day.

Presented in its original PlayStation packaging, this figure is far more than a nostalgia object. It bridges two worlds: the 3D gaming revolution and contemporary designer toy culture. Essential for video game memorabilia collectors and Bearbrick enthusiasts alike, this model documents a turning point in the entertainment industry. Released in December 2025, this Bearbrick arrives exactly 31 years after the console's Japanese launch – a perfect moment to make gaming history tangible.

Is this Bearbrick already pre-assembled?

Yes, all Bearbricks available at MyBearBrick.de are delivered fully assembled by the manufacturer Medicom Toy and are ready to display. So there's no risk of damaging the model.

What packaging does this Bearbrick come in?

This Bearbrick comes in the official original Medicom Toy packaging (see specifications). This is often a collector's item in its own right and important for preserving the model's value. We take care to ensure secure packaging for shipping to prevent damage during transport.

What material is this Bearbrick made of and how do I best care for it?

Most Bearbricks are made of high-quality plastic (ABS plastic), unless otherwise stated in the specifications. For maintenance, we recommend gently dusting the figure regularly with a soft, dry cloth. On chrome versions, fingerprints should be avoided; cloth gloves may be helpful here. Direct sunlight and high humidity should be avoided to protect the colors and material over time and ensure long-term value retention.

How quickly will my order be shipped and how long will delivery take?

Orders received by 2:00 PM on weekdays (11:00 AM on Saturdays) will be shipped the same day via DHL. Delivery within Germany typically takes 1 to 2 business days. Deliveries to other EU countries or Switzerland typically take 2 to 4 business days. You will always receive a tracking number so you can check the status of your delivery at any time.

How much are the shipping costs for this Bearbrick?

How does the quality and mobility of this model differ from other sizes?

Medicom Toy's production quality is very high across all sizes. Larger models (400% or 1000%) often offer more space for detailed designs. However, the joints vary depending on the size: In larger models (400% and 1000%), the arms and legs usually rotate in a single plane. Smaller Bearbricks (especially 100% and 200%) often have ball joints, allowing for more flexible movement of the limbs.
