Product description

"She's dead… wrapped in plastic." With these seven words, spoken by Pete Martell on the shore of a fog-shrouded lake in Washington State, one of the most revolutionary television series of all time began on April 8, 1990. Twin Peaks, created by cult director David Lynch and Mark Frost, changed television forever—and Laura Palmer became the most iconic dead character in TV history. The two-part pilot captivated 36 million viewers, and the question "Who killed Laura Palmer?" became a national obsession that gripped America for weeks.

Twin Peaks was more than just a series—it was a cultural earthquake. Lynch brought his surreal cinematic aesthetic to network television and proved that TV could be an artistic medium. The series blended genres in an unprecedented way: mystery thriller, soap opera, supernatural horror, and absurdist comedy merged into a hypnotic whole. Angelo Badalamenti's haunting jazz score, the cinematic camerawork, the dreamlike sequences, and the bizarre mix of small-town idyll and profound horror made Twin Peaks the blueprint for modern quality television. Without Twin Peaks, there would be no The X-Files, no Lost, no True Detective, no Stranger Things.

At the heart of this dark fable was Laura Palmer, played by Sheryl Lee—the blonde homecoming queen who, beneath her perfect facade, led a secret life of drugs, abuse, and despair. Her body, wrapped in transparent plastic and washed ashore, became the most disturbing and yet most beautiful image of the series. David Lynch personally placed every grain of sand on Sheryl Lee's face and arranged the plastic sheeting around her head with the precision of a painter—it was less a corpse than a disturbing work of art. This image of the dead Laura in the transparent plastic became the visual synonym for Twin Peaks itself and the blueprint for countless "dead girl" series in the decades to come.

This Bearbrick from Series 21 (2010) immortalizes Laura Palmer in her most tragic form: The cold blues evoke the lifeless skin of a drowned woman, while the closed eyes and blank expression capture that moment of silence and horror when Pete Martell discovered her body. The matte, almost translucent finish is reminiscent of the plastic sheeting that became Laura Palmer's macabre shroud. The light blue tones of her hair and the subtle color gradients on her body enhance the ghostly, almost ethereal appearance—beautiful and disturbing at once. A tribute to one of the most influential TV series of all time, this Bearbrick is more than just a figure—it's a piece of television history, wrapped in 7 cm of dark nostalgia.

How does the quality and mobility of this model differ from other sizes?

However, the joints vary depending on the size: In larger models (400% and 1000%), the arms and legs usually rotate in a single plane. Smaller Bearbricks (especially 100% and 200%) often have ball joints, allowing for more flexible movement of the limbs.
